5th IZA/World Bank/NJD/UNU-WIDER Jobs and Development Conference
“Building better jobs for the post-Covid19 era”
The conference will take place on September 1-3, 2021. In light of the health safety recommendations and uncertainty pertaining to international travel, the conference will be virtual.
The three-day format will feature keynote speeches, a policy panel, and about 50 paper presentations in parallel sessions. The event will focus on policy-relevant research, applicable to identifying solutions to jobs challenges in low- and middle-income countries.
To expand the frontiers of global knowledge around jobs and advance the discussion on the most effective policies, we are interested in policy-relevant papers on all topics in labor and development economics, but especially in papers that focus on:
- Technology and the future of work
- Trade, global value chains and their effect on jobs
- The COVID-19 pandemic, living standards and jobs
- Women in the labor market
Please submit full papers or extended abstracts by April 30, 2021 using our online application form. Notifications on contributed papers will be sent by June 20, 2021. Any queries can be emailed to conference managers at email@example.com.
We strongly encourage the submission of full papers. For extended abstracts, full paper submission is due July 31, 2021.
